Frequently Asked Questions
When do you run?
Our regular runs are on a Tuesday morning at 6:30 and on a Thursday evening at 5:50 for a 6pm start. Take a look at this page for full details.
Where do you run from?
All regular runs meet at Clarence Park in Bury at the Jubilee Centre next to the Lido.
How far do you run?
On a Thursday we have 5k, 7k and 10k options. If you feel you’re not ready for that, try our Jeffing group and we’ll get you there.
How fast do you run?
Our Thursday runs cater for all abilities. Our Jeffing group is an ideal starting point, alternating 30 seconds of running with 30 seconds of walking. Our social runs are at a conversational pace, and the stretch runs tend to be at a steady pace of 6:15 to 6:30 per km.
What if I can't keep up?
We aim to have a tail runner with each group so you will never be last, and many of our members are experienced runners who will stay with you and keep you company. We don’t leave anyone behind.
Do you run in bad weather?
We meet as normal in all weather when safe to do so, though adjustments may be made. Any significant changes will be generally communicated in advance.
Is there somewhere to park?
The Lido car park is located just off Milner Avenue. There is no charge to park.
Can I bring my dog?
Unfortunately, only assistance dogs are allowed on our Thursday runs.
Can I run with a pushchair?
We don’t have any problem with you running with a pushchair, though not all routes are suitable. Please check the route map beforehand.
Are your run leaders qualified?
Indeed they are. All of our run leaders hold the LiRF certificate. A number of our run leaders are also first aid trained.
